Men’s Hair: Three Different Cuts and Style

March 2, 2016 By Andrew 6 Comments

Men's Hair 3 StylesThree of the most distinctive, attractive, and fashion forwards styles in men’s hair are the Disconnected Undercut, the 1940’s Slick Back, and the Grown Out Undercut. Each comes with a lot of versatility as well as an image.

But your probably wondering?

How can I as achieve these styles as just a normal guy?

Look:

Just because we see these styles and beautiful hair on models does not mean your average guy should not be able to achieve it. Which is why I am here. I am giving you the tools to achieve the exact look you want in your own home, not a studio.

Want to know the best part?

It is not even that hard.

Once you have the developed these techniques you will have no problem recreating any of these looks in little time on a daily basis.

1. Disconnected Undercut Men’s Hair Tutorial

You have seen it on every model, this incredibly trendy haircut is loved by women and men for its high contrast and distinctiveness. Very easy to mess up, but when done right it is incredible. There are many people who attempt this haircut without any experience, which is why I want to show you how a professional would go about styling it. For this hairstyle, we are going to need a product with a lot of hold in the video below we use Hanz de Fuko Claymation. This style is an amazing example of how far men’s hair has come over the years. I understand not everyone is going to love this hairstyle, which is why I am offering you two more options. The next being incredibly different from this style and gives a more mature look.

2. 1940’s Slick Back Tutorial (G-Eazy Haircut)

As if this hairstyle was not already making a come back, G-Eazy has taken it to an entirely new level.  In the past few months people have gone crazy over the greaser style and it has not stopped increasing in popularity. Loved by both men and women, it is the perfect hairstyle for many occasions. A great example is from G-Eazy’s Almost Famous music video, the entire video shows just how versatile and powerful this haircut is. We see him moving through magazine cover photo-shoots taking different pictures at different levels of classiness from everyday wear to G-Eazy rocking a full suit looking powerful, while the magazines keep changing one thing stays: the classic haircut.

In this hairstyle, G-Eazy used Hanz de Fuko Modified Pomade. It is a water-based pomade that will give you that old school look which G-Eazy so effortlessly pulls off. There are tons of pomades on the market and unlike waxes and clays they are not really all that different, so its more about finding one at the right price point. For me I also look for something that will give me the hold I need but also come out of my hair easily at the end of the day, which is what water-based pomades were designed to do. Another water-based pomade I have tried is Mister Pompadour Peppermint Pomade , which as you probably guessed is scented like peppermint and can be refreshing on your scalp. If you are looking for something a little less pricey than these two, American Crew Pomade is your best bet. As for oil pomades, I never use them because they create too much buildup in my hair and I do not like the way the feel. Another thing to consider if you end up purchasing a oil-based pomade is that it is very possible it may react negatively with your skin and cause you to break out a lot more than a water based pomade would. If you have sensitive skin and insist on using an oil based pomade I HIGHLY suggest you wash your hair out every night before going to bed. However I have heard good things about Lockhart Medium Pomade.

Without further adieu, here is the haircut along with styling at the Hanz de Fuko Studio.

3. Grown Out Undercut Tutorial (Mariano Di Vaio Haircut)

Now:

Moving away from the slick back look, we are going back to the undercut with this grown out style. This haircut is incredibly similar to our first style, however it will give you a much more mature look that as an adult would be much easier to pull off. Two incredibly similar haircuts, the only difference being the lengths of the sides which creates or reduces contrast. The reduced contrast in this haircut is where the maturity is derived from and what makes this a overall. If you look at most men’s hair, they will have some variation of this haircut. Here you will learn how to style it better, with more volume, and more texture.
